Well, I’ve done it. I’ve posted the much-agonized-over Steve/Bucky fic.
This is one of those fics where I’m not sure that a lot of folks will like it, or that it’ll find an audience or whatever, but I just…have so many feels about it, and about these two fictional characters, and I just. Ugh.
Anyway, there it is.
whitesheepcbd answered: What was their wedding like? (I don’t *think* you’ve covered that yet.)
Kurt and Blaine don’t get married in Ohio, as much as Blaine’s parents push them to come back home. They both wanted to get married in the city, since it’s where they both feel at home and where their friends all are. They debate over the location for months. Blaine’s parents refuse to pay for a wedding if it’s not in a church, but Kurt simply CAN’T and Blaine won’t… not when he doesn’t feel comfortable or accepted there anymore. So… much to his mother’s dismay, they end up getting married at an old coal breaker, about two hours outside of the city. It’s a random place that Kurt found and Blaine had initially refused, until Kurt showed him some sketches of what he was imagining and it was breathtaking. It’s industrial and modern like Kurt wanted, while still being vintage like Blaine wanted, and Kurt’s designs turn the entire place into a gorgeous spot for a wedding, much to everyone’s surprise. Their pictures alone are to die for.
Sebastian is Blaine’s best man and Rachel is Kurt’s. Dani, Santana, Jeff, and Nick are in the wedding as well. Blaine’s parents DO come, and they DO end up offering to pay, but Blaine’s got money saved up from his YouTube channel (he hosts “Deaf in the City” with three others) and since their proposal video went viral and was then used in a Google ad, they’re able to cover the cost themselves.
The entire wedding is done in ASL with a voice interpreter for those who don’t understand sign, they write their own vows, and while Blaine refused to film the entire thing for his YouTube channel, Sebastian does post clips from the reception online, causing the “Deaf in the City” fanbase to go wild.
I never thought that you and I would ever meet again
I’m so confused I don’t know what to feel
Should I throw my arms around you or kill you for real?
I worked so hard to put the past to rest
Where do we begin now that you’re back from the dead?
